What is commonly know as Down Under pretty much summarises the countries of Oceania, i.e. Australia, New Zealand and the numerous pacific archipelagos and islands. But the expression “Down Under” also symbolises that those countries are on the other end of the world, at least from the European point of view.

What you find Down Under is also very different from European countries and their scenery. Best known is probably Australia, with its vast red deserts, which give it the nickname “sunburnt country”, a wildlife unique in species and relaxed and yet flourishing metropolises on the coast. Down Under also is New Zealand - much smaller than its huge neighbour country, but in no way less diverse. Here you can combine a day of skiing and sunbathing on the beach. Beaches, glaciers, hot springs - New Zealand offers lots of variety within comparable short distances.
